Trauma

Impact of trauma by Dr Julie Smith

Understandably we suppress thoughts around our traumas, which may help in the short term, however when these get triggered they create strong emotions, flashbacks and / or nightmares and we get stuck in this cycle.

Trauma therapy by Dr Julie Smith

We can build skills to enable us to gently open up the trauma memories, to understand them and allow the brain time to process them. Once processed fully, these can be a difficult memory from the past, but have less impact in our day to day.
